Box Broom vs Angle Broom: Which Sweeper Fits Your Machine

Box brooms and angle brooms are both rotary sweeper attachments, and both use the same principle: a hydraulically driven drum with poly wipers or wire bristles spins and throws debris. The difference is where that debris goes – and that difference decides which job each tool is right for.

What a box broom is

A box broom encloses the sweeper drum in a hood with rubber side curtains, forming a closed box. Material swept from the surface is thrown up inside the hood and drops into a front collection trough. The broom therefore collects debris, not just moves it. Typical work: parking lots, warehouse yards, warehouse floors, snow dusting, and any site where you must leave the surface clean rather than sweep the dirt to the verge.

What an angle broom is

An angle broom runs the same drum but without a closed housing. The drum is angled to the direction of travel and throws material forward and to one side. It is the right tool when volume is light and you simply want to move dust, gravel spill or light snow off an edge. It cannot collect, so a second pass with a bucket or a pickup broom is needed where debris must be removed.
