A four-tine rotating or fixed log grapple on an S-type headstock, for handling cut timber, branches and bundled offcuts with a compact excavator.
The 6013 body carries four tines in a single plane, which keeps the mouth narrow enough to pick a single trunk but still wide enough to take a bundle of branches. Because the load is held on four points rather than two, cut ends do not spin as readily when the machine swings, so the operator spends less time repositioning the dipper.

Dimensions, opening and working load are confirmed against your drawing before production. Nothing on this page is a substitute for that confirmation.
What it is used for
- Loading and unloading cut logs on site
- Clearing felled timber and brash after site clearance
- Feeding a chipper or a timber trailer
- Handling bundled offcuts and palletised firewood
- Picking stone and demolition debris of irregular shape
How it is built
- Body and tines in welded structural steel, gusseted at the pivot
- Hardened pivot pins running in replaceable bushings
- Hydraulic cylinder with protected rod, hoses and couplers supplied
- Headstock machined to the pin spacing you specify
- Two-pack paint finish
What to send with your inquiry
- Excavator make and model, and the lift chart if you have it
- Coupler type – S30, S40, S45, S80 – or the pin diameter and centre distance
- Auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure (litres per minute and bar)
- What you will handle: log diameter and length, or material type for a clamshell
- Any opening or width the job requires
- Photos of the machine and the coupler help more than a written description
Ordering notes
Each unit is built to the headstock and hydraulic specification confirmed on the drawing. Confirm the drawing before production starts – after the body is cut and the headstock is machined, changes to the pin pattern mean a new headstock, not an adjustment. Spare bushings and pins can be supplied with the unit so the first rebuild does not wait on parts.
Questions we are usually asked
Rotating or fixed head – which do I need?
A rotating head lets the grapple turn the load without turning the machine, which is what you want when stacking or feeding a trailer at an angle. A fixed head is simpler and cheaper, and is enough for straight pick-and-place work. Tell us the job and we quote the head that fits it.
Can it run on my machine’s auxiliary circuit?
The head is driven by one auxiliary circuit. Send the flow and pressure from your machine’s spec sheet and we confirm the valve and cylinder sizing before the order is released.
Will it fit an S40 or S45 coupler?
The headstock is machined to order, so the same body can be supplied on S30, S40, S45, S80 or a brand-specific pattern. We confirm the pin diameter and centre distance against your drawing.
