Log Grapple 5114 – Vertical Five Claw

5114 vertical five claw grapple

The larger vertical five-claw body, for heavier poles and thicker standing timber.

Same vertical arrangement as the 5016, built on the heavier 5114 body for larger diameter poles and for machines that work at a longer reach. The extra body weight is a help here rather than a drawback: it keeps the claw seated on the object while the jaws close.

Dimensions, opening and working load are confirmed against your drawing before production. Nothing on this page is a substitute for that confirmation.

What it is used for

  • Heavy poles and piling timber
  • Standing timber before felling
  • Utility pole handling with larger carriers
  • Round timber stored upright in a yard

How it is built

  • Heavier body than the 5016
  • Five vertical claws with hardened tips
  • Oversized pivot pins
  • Rotation available on request
  • Headstock to your pin pattern

What to send with your inquiry

  • Excavator make and model, and the lift chart if you have it
  • Coupler type – S30, S40, S45, S80 – or the pin diameter and centre distance
  • Auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure (litres per minute and bar)
  • What you will handle: log diameter and length, or material type for a clamshell
  • Any opening or width the job requires
  • Photos of the machine and the coupler help more than a written description

Ordering notes

Each unit is built to the headstock and hydraulic specification confirmed on the drawing. Confirm the drawing before production starts – after the body is cut and the headstock is machined, changes to the pin pattern mean a new headstock, not an adjustment. Spare bushings and pins can be supplied with the unit so the first rebuild does not wait on parts.

Questions we are usually asked

How do I choose between 5016 and 5114?
By pole diameter, by the weight you lift and by machine class. Give us the object size and your machine model and we recommend one.

Does the claw damage the timber?
The tips are profiled for grip. On soft or finished timber, tell us at inquiry and we can discuss a different tip profile.

Can it be supplied on a quick coupler?
Yes, the headstock is machined to the pin spacing you specify, including S-type and brand-specific patterns.
