Leveling Bucket Guide: Widths, Interfaces and Site Uses

A leveling bucket carries material on a long flat floor and lays it down in a controlled layer, so a skid steer or compact loader can spread and trim without a grader on site. Where a standard bucket dumps, a leveling bucket places – and on driveways, yards and turf preparation that difference is most of the job.

The KaiVoy range by carrier interface

Interfaces are listed against the attachment, not the brand badge – the same rule as all KaiVoy loader attachments. If your carrier runs another pattern, the bucket is built to your pin dimensions instead.

What the flat floor changes on site

  • Spreading topsoil and sub-base – the load is carried forward and released in a layer whose thickness the operator sets with speed, not with guesswork.
  • Trimming driveways, yards and car parks – one wide pass replaces several bucket-width passes and leaves a surface a roller can finish.
  • Back-filling trenches in controlled layers – the layer-by-layer placement compaction crews ask for.
  • Snow and bulk pushing – the wide floor doubles as a push blade between seasons, and the same bucket loads the box broom sweeper or a grapple bucket when clearance work starts.

Width versus carrier stability

The three widths step up with the carrier: 1500 mm on compact machines, 2000 – 2100 mm where the loader can carry the extra 60 – 120 kg without lifting the rear end. Weight also buys plate thickness in the abrasion zones – the 346 kg P2100 wears longest on gravel, the 228 kg LLB1500 suits soft landscaping ground where every kilogram on the tyres costs traction.

FAQ

Is a leveling bucket the same as a grading bucket?

They rhyme but do not overlap: the SKP grading bucket hangs on an excavator and finishes slopes from the dipper; the leveling bucket rides on a wheeled loader and finishes flat work at travel speed.

Can I use it to load trucks?

Loose material, yes – the floor is a bucket floor. But loading is a standard bucket’s job; the leveling bucket earns its keep placing material, not digging it.

How is it quoted?
